F.C. Resident Ryan Fields Finishes Run of ‘The Island’

Falls Church resident and 2014 graduate of George Mason High School Ryan Fields just completed his professional stage debut as John, the main character in Allentown Public Theatre’s production of “The Island,” which wrapped on Sunday, May 1 in Allentown, Penn.

The play, written by Athol Fugard, John Kani and Winston Ntshona, is an apartheid-era drama in one act about two political prisoners in South Africa, one of whom was played by Fields. Fields, a sophomore at Muhlenberg College, received praise for his portrayal of John from the Lehigh Valley Press, who said “Fields plays the role of John with the right touch of levity.”
