Jody’s Jam of the Week: Spring Sports Leagues

With Spring comes a new season of competition, as sports leagues around the D.C. area get ready to start anew. Whatever it is, it’s out there.

For the jocks, Fairfax Athletics ( has open registration for leagues in flag football, soccer, softball, dodgeball and kickball. In addition, the World Adult Kickball Association ( has a slew of teams in the D.C. & Northern Virginia area, including a Falls Church-based division.

Prefer a little booze with your games? Check out the United Skeeball Assocation ( where you can play the boardwark staple, league-style, in neighborhood bars in Arlington and D.C. Also for the pub crowd is D.C.’s Rock & Roll Hotel newly forming Ping Pong league ( on Monday nights.
