New Candidate Enters Dem Primary Race Against Saslaw

Karen Torrent, a 30-year resident of the greater Falls Church area, filed paperwork yesterday to enter the race for the Democratic nomination for the 35th Senate District. Torrent is an environmental issues attorney who led an effort against a Dominion Power rate freeze that Saslaw supported two years ago.

Torrent becomes the third candidate in the race for the June primary, joining the incumbent Saslaw and challenger Yasmine Taeb.
