A recent theme for students at Jessie Thackrey Preschool has been learning about trees. Students recently learned about how leaves are really different colors and its their chlorophyll that makes them look green for most of the year.
Now that the fall season has come, students are learning how leaves stop producing chlorophyll and turn colors and how leaves eventually end up on the ground. They recently participated in an outdoor activity of raking hillside behind the school’s playground.
The older I get and the longer I spend inside the News-Press, the more I realize the thing we were actually producing all these years was never just a newspaper.
