5 Falls Church HS Students Win ‘Book Your Summer’ Contest

Five students from Falls Church High School were recognized for their participation in the Book Your Summer reading program. Falls Church junior Karina Miller won a laptop giveaway because of her performance in the program.

The other four students who were recognized for their participation and received $50 worth of free books they were able to choose. Freshman Mina Berry, sophomore Christopher Albrecht, junior Lydia Dang and senior Maddie Arman were the other participants recognized.

In related library news at Falls Church High School, the school’s head librarian Laura Potocki was recently chosen to be a part of the Library Vanguard team this year in Fairfax County.

This team is a group of six librarians who work with the library level specialists on a year-long Guided Inquiry Design project, focusing on reflecting through the stages of the GID process. The lessons and reflections will be shared as examples for all librarians in Fairfax County Public Schools.
