Snyder & Columbia Baptist Reveal Plans

The family of long-time Falls Church City Councilman David Snyder, owners of the land at the corner of Great Falls and Maple, and the Columbia Baptist Church, owners of adjacent properties, came before the Falls Church City Council work session Monday to float their idea of rezoning and subdividing their combined properties to enable the construction of one new home on the Snyder land, and parking lot development on the church part. Councilman Snyder, Mayor David Tarter and Councilman Dan Sze all recused themselves from consideration of the matter.

Three historic homes on Maple would be retained, and Councilman Phil Duncan said he’d like to see some commercial frontage on the N. Washington component of the church’s property. No action was sought or taken.
