A Peruvian election is likely to result in heavy traffic in Falls Church near George Mason High School and Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School this Sunday. The two City schools are polling locations for Peru’s presidential election and thousands of people are expected to turn up to vote, creating heavy foot and vehicular traffic in the area, City officials say.

The schools, located at 7124 and 7130 Leesburg Pike, are being rented out for the election from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 5. Officials report City of Falls Church and Fairfax County Police are coordinating plans to keep traffic moving, including having extra personnel on site Sunday. Visitors to the polling places have been encouraged to use public transit.

Drivers to the City of F.C. are advised that shopping center parking lots are for customers only and cars may be towed if parked illegally.
