Eye Level Learning Center Presents Writing Workshops

Eye Level Learning Center of Falls Church is presenting a day of writing workshops for children in grades 1 – 4 at Mary Riley Styles Public Library at 120 N. Virginia Avenue on Saturday, Jan. 16.

The day of workshops will begin at 2 p.m. with a Winter Writing Blast for children in grades 1 – 2. During the hour-long workshop, children will have the opportunity to write about winter using their five senses, make a word web with winter words, use their ideas and descriptive words to write a winter poem and draw a picture to go along with their winter poem.

From 3 – 4 p.m., children in grades 3 – 4 will learn the art of the business letter. Children will have the opportunity to write a letter of compliment or complaint to an actual company, edit the letter and then give to the event organizers for them to send or take the letter home to type it up and send off themselves.

Registration is required for both events and opens on Saturday, Jan. 2. For more information, visit fallschurchva.org/Library or call 703-248-5034.
