A pop-up for Requin, the upcoming French Mediterranean restaurant from Top Chef stars Mike Isabella and Jennifer Carroll, will debut at Mosaic District this Friday, Dec. 11. The pop-up will be located in the 5,100 square-foot space of the former Gypsy Soul restaurant in the Merrifield development.
Requin’s pop-up will be dinner-only and feature a rotating menu with small and large, family-style plates including charred and pickled mackerel, beef carpaccio, grilled whole dover sole, cheese boards and more. A beverage program will include a 40-bottle wine list (80-percent French, the press release says) and largely Belgian bottle-only beer list.
Mosaic’s Requin pop-up will run through the spring of 2016 before making way for Isabella’s Greek restaurant, Kapnos Kouzina. Requin will open its permanent location in Washington, D.C. in mid-2017.
