Former F.C. Resident, Photographer to Dignitaries David B. Wilson Dies

Former 38 year Falls Church resident and retired Navy Chief Petty Officer David B. Wilson died on Sunday, Nov. 8 in Delaware due to pneumonia after a long, chronic illness. Following an illustrious career in the Navy, including attending Syracuse University, Wilson joined civil service.

Stationed at the Pentagon, he was personal photographer to dignitaries including the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of the Navy and Chief of Naval Operations with whom he traveled extensively to many states and countries, including China. Wilson was honored in many ways as a civil servant and photographer.

For example, his Bicentennial photos of the “Tall Ships” in New York harbor are published on pages 10 and 11 in the encyclopedia of The Bicentennial of the United States of America. He was a man of pride and integrity with many natural talents and hobbies, including sharpshooting, skirmishing, cars, NASCAR, motorcycling, traveling, concerting and RV camping.

He is survived by his wife, Florence, his daughter, Laura and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
