F.C. Celebrates Vets with 21st Annual Veterans Day Ceremony

The City of Falls Church honored former and current military service members at its 21st Annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the City of Falls Church Veterans Memorial on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Retired U.S. Army Colonel Dr. Sue Meyers, wife of Major General Harold Greene, gave the keynote speech at the ceremony. Greene died in the line of duty while serving in Kabul, Afghanistan on August 5, 2014. Meyers and Master Gunnery Sergeant John Abbracciamento, a trumpeter in the U.S. Marine Corps Band, received awards at the ceremony from Robert Smith, Chairman of the Greater Falls Church Veterans Council. Abbracciamento played “Taps” towards the end of the ceremony. Check out our gallery of photos from the event below.
