Volunteers for 2 September Events Sought

The City of Falls Church Public Works Department issued a statement seeking volunteers for two events on Saturday, Sept. 12: the Recycling Extravaganza and the Habitat Restoration. The Recycling Extravaganza is from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Falls Church Recycling Center and Property Yard, 217 Gordon Road. Volunteers are needed to help sort and bag clothing and textiles, inventory bicycles, direct traffic, and break down cardboard. The Habitat Restoration is from 10 a.m. – noon at Cherry Hill Park, 312 Park Avenue.

Volunteers are needed to help restore the local ecosystem in Cherry Hill Park by removing invasive plants. They will plant flowers that will benefit the local birds and butterflies.
