Twelve Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School Technology Student Association members received Silver Achievement Awards earlier this month at the opening session of the 2014 Virginia Technosphere Conference in Richmond.
The Silver Achievement Award is the second highest honor given to TSA members. Mary Ellen Henderson accounted for 12 of the 20 awards presented at this year’s state conference. Members receiving awards were Aziz Shaik, Ben Fong, Casandre Rice, Cindy Lay, Colter Adams, Erik Boesen, Evan Lawrence, Josh Nicholson, Lauren Ford, Myra de Carvalho, Nathan Sperry, and Ravi Patch.
The TSA Achievement Program is designed to motivate and recognize student members for high effort in a school’s technology education program. TSA members receive recognition points towards the achievement awards by creating, organizing, marketing, implementing, and evaluating events throughout the school year. The Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School TSA chapter has provided MEHMS students with several chapter- and school-wide activities this school year, including workshops, gaming tournaments, community recycling events, fundraisers, leadership trainings, chapter meetings, and conference experiences.
