F.C. Officer & Chief to Bike in Police Unity Tour

City of Falls Church Police Officer James Brooks and Chief Mary Gavin will be participating in Chapter IV of the 2014 Police Unity Tour, taking place May 10 – 12, and the public is invited to gather and cheer them on during the final stretch of their race.

All citizens are invited to join their neighbors, Chamber of Commerce members, Falls Church and Fairfax police officers, and Falls Church City staff next Monday, May 12, at 11:30 a.m. at the Route 50 overpass between Pistone’s Italian Inn and Public Storage to welcome all the riders of the Police Unity Tour.

The 250-mile bicycle ride pays tribute to law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty and honors their sacrifice. This annual trek begins in Richmond, continues through Charlottesville, and winds up to Warrenton before concluding in Washington, D.C. at the National Law Enforcement Memorial.
