F.C. Student Takes ‘Alternative Spring Break’

Alexis Morse of Falls Church was one of nearly 300 James Madison University students who embarked on 30 alternative spring break trips around the country and world this year.

Morse, a junior psychology major, traveled to York, South Carolina, to work with York Place. York Place is a home and residential treatment center for children and adolescents experiencing significant emotional and behavioral disorders. She and fellow JMU students served in classrooms, cleaned up around the facilities, and spent quality time with residents. The group also helped during homework time, taught and played sports, and attended class and chapel with the kids.
