F.C. Police to Host Prescription Drug Take-Back April 26

The City of Falls Church Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration are hosting a prescription drug take-back on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the City’s Property Yard, 217 Gordon Road, in conjunction with the City’s Recycling Extravaganza.

The prescription drug take-back program helps prevent pill abuse and theft by presenting the public with an opportunity to turn over potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. Solid prescription pills are accepted; needles, liquids, or injectables will not be accepted.

This marks the eight of such events in the last three years. Nationwide totals from the October 2013 event show that Americans turned in over 647,211 pounds of prescription drugs at over 5,600 sites operated by the DEA and their state and local law enforcement partners.
