The City of Falls Church issued an update late Thursday afternoon saying all streets in the City have been treated and plowed and are currently passable.

Officials advise residents to stay off the roads so work crews can continue to work on them during the expected snowfall tonight.

In an addendum to the update, City Communications Officer Susan Finarelli says some cul-de-sacs have not been plowed but will be by morning.

The update is below:

All City of Falls Church streets have been treated and plowed and are passable, but please use caution. The City advises the community to stay off the roads so crews can continue to work safely and effectively on snow removal and treatment and plowing with tonight’s snow.

Residents and business are reminded to remove snow and ice per City Code (www.fallschurchva.gov/SnowRemoval), especially on sidewalks, around fire hydrants, and in catch basins. Removing snow from catch basins can be critical in preventing localized flooding as the snow melts.

To access the Recreation and Parks Department’s list of teens who can be hired for shoveling, call 703-248-5077. Thank you to all residents and businesses who have already cleared snow from their areas.
