Area Boy Scouts will be setting up a field radio station next month in Falls Church.

The Jamboree-on-the-Air event will transform a field at 2034 Great Falls St., Falls Church, into an amateur radio station on Oct. 20 from 7 a.m. – 10 p.m.

The station will replicate the type of station that could be used in an emergency situation when other communication infrastructure fails. Demonstrations will delve into the use of shortwave radio and the use of amateur radio around the world.
