George Mason’s ‘Les Mis’ Wins National Award

The November 2010 production of the “Les Miserables” musical by students at George Mason High School was honored this week with an American Prize, one of a series of such honors presented at high school, college and professional levels. It was named No. 1 in the U.S. as a high school musical theater performance, starring Sam Waters in the lead role. It was also named No. 1 in conducting of a high school performance for the work of Mary Jo West. Second and third places in those categories went to high schools in California, New Jersey and upstate New York.
