Research Books Donated to Genealogical Society

The Nelly Custis Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution has donated a three volume set of research books, Women in the American Revolutionary Era, to the research center of the Mount Vernon Genealogical Society.

The three-volume set reveals published resources from the 18th century to the present day that describe and document women’s and girls’ lives during the American Revolution.

MVGS also has a copy of DAR’s African American and American Indian Patriots of the Revolutionary War.

The research center of the society contains a genealogy library of over 3,500 genealogy books and research materials and access to computers printers, and copiers.

The research center is open to the public and operates Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., with the exception of the first Wednesday of the month.

The research center is located at 1500 Shenandoah Road, Alexandria.
