Skating Sisters Win Gold, Qualify for Games of America

Hannah Schlesinger, 13, and her sister, Becky Schlesinger, 9, both of Falls Church, skated their way last Saturday to qualifying for the State Games of America, which will be held in Hershey, Pennsylvania in August 2013. Hannah scored a Gold and Silver medal, while Becky scored a Gold medal, at the Subway Commonwealth Games of Virginia, held at Hampton Ice House in Yorktown.

Hannah won Gold for a comic program skated to “Make ‘Em Laugh” from the classic motion picture, “Singing in the Rain.” Becky won Gold for her performance as Dorothy skated to music from “The Wizard of Oz.” They have been coached by Inna Volyanskaya locally, and choreographed by U.S. national medalist Dan Hollander.
