Meredyth Duncan’s ‘Outdoor Creation’ Wins Best in Show

Meredyth Duncan took best of show honors at the opening of the Falls Church Arts’ “Outdoor Creations” show last Thursday.

Duncan, a recent graduate of Swarthmore College, graduated from George Mason High School in 2008 and has been a member of Falls Church Arts and a frequent exhibitor in its shows since she was a teen.

Her winning entry, “Crispation,” is a hand-built piece of pottery with ancient influences that she worked on for five months, keeping the clay moist with the addition of paper.

“Outdoor Creations” will run through June 21 at ArtSpace Falls Church, 410 S. Maple Ave. For more information, call 703-679-7881.
