Cherry Hill Park Evacuated as Police Investigate Unidentified Device

Cherry Hill Park and homes surrounding the area were evacuated Monday afternoon by Falls Church City police after a report of a device found in the yard of a City resident.

According to City spokesperson Susan Finarelli, a City resident was digging in his yard in the 200 block of N. Virginia Avenue and found an unidentifiable device. Police were alerted to the situation, and Falls Church City police and the Arlington County bomb squad were on the scene.
