Virginia Resident Eileen Marilyn Cain Dies at 78

Eileen Marilyn Cain, 78, of Mineral, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Feb. 5 after a four-year illness.

She was the daughter of Carl Dode Rex and Ethel Maybelle Flanigan and is survived by her children: Russell Paul Cain of Columbia, Md.; Thomas Carl Cain and his wife, Allyson, of Fairfax; Linda Marie Cain and her close friend, Kevin Engel, of South Riding; and Eileen Joanne Staron and her husband, Dan, of Fairfax; 11 grandchildren; and her brother, Carl Dode Rex of Tucson, Ariz.

Mrs. Cain was born in Hammond, Ind., and received a BS in Education from Northern Illinois University. She taught at Thornton Fractional until she married her husband of 29 years, Robert Leo Cain; who predeceased her in 1987.

During her life, Mrs. Cain lived in England and Turkey. She enjoyed travel, family, reading, dining out, and family crab feasts. She was a wonderful, loving soul and will be sorely missed by all.

A memorial service was held last Tuesday at Church of the Nativity, 6400 Nativity Lane, Burke.

An expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Kidney Association.
