League of Women Voters to Hold Forum on Privatization

The League of Women Voters of Falls Church will hold a forum on March 13 to explore issues that may arise when governments choose to privatize government services. The forum, another in the league’s “Lunch and Learn” series, will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Art Room of the Falls Church Community Center.

The session will focus on privatization proposals at the state and local level, such as the management of trash and recycling services and the city’s water system, private management of highways, and proposals to transfer state liquor stores to private management. The discussion will focus on the kinds of issues that need to be reviewed when privatization proposals are considered.

Interested persons should RSVP by March 11 to Pam Spofford at paspofford@yahoo.com. Participants can preorder a boxed lunch for $15 or bring their own lunch, if they choose. Payments for lunch will be collected at the door.

For more information, visit lwvfallschurch.org. The Falls Church Community Center is located at 223 Little Falls St., Falls Church.
