Mason Loses Region B Final in Overtime

George Mason High School’s boys basketball team lost 67-60 in overtime to Dan River High School in the Region B tournament championship tonight.

The game was tied at 53 after four quarters. In overtime, Dan River made free throws to give them the edge over the Mustangs.

Senior forward Nate Ogle led the Mustangs with 17 points. Senior guard/forward Philippe Griffiths scored 14 points and senior guard Noel Obusan added 10 points for the Mustangs.

The Mustangs will play the winner of the Region A final between Lancaster High School and Essex High School in the quarterfinals of the Virginia High School League state tournament.
