A SECOND INFORMATIONAL forum within a week dealing with the referendum on the Nov. 8 ballot in the City of Falls Church was held at the George Mason High School library Tuesday night, co-sponsored by the Village Preservation and Improvement Society (VPIS) and Citizens for a Better City (CBC).
A SECOND INFORMATIONAL forum within a week dealing with the referendum on the Nov. 8 ballot in the City of Falls Church was held at the George Mason High School library Tuesday night, co-sponsored by the Village Preservation and Improvement Society (VPIS) and Citizens for a Better City (CBC). About 30 attended to discuss the pros and cons of passing the referendum, a “Yes” vote advocating a switch of the date of City elections from May to November. Among those in attendance were F.C. Mayor Nader Baroukh and former mayors Brian O’Connor and (current vice mayor) David Snyder, Council member Lawrence Webb, former vice-mayors Hal Lippman and Lindy Hockenberry and former Council members Ed Strait and Dan Maller, CBC co-founder Lou Olom, former School Board chair Craig Cheney and Electoral Board chair Renee Andrews.
