School Custodian at MEH Gives Citizenship Insights

Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School seventh grade civic classes are learning about becoming United States citizens. Last week, they welcomed a special guest, Syda Chansombat, one of the school custodians.

She spoke about her life in Laos during the Vietnam War and why she had to leave her country and come to the United States with her family. She also explained to the class the process she went through to become a citizen of the United States.
