‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’ Set for GMHS

George Mason High School’s theater arts instructor Pam Spicer revealed Tuesday that a musical based on the 1967 Academy Award winning film, “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” will be performed by the school’s drama department Nov. 17-19.

The movie, set in 1922, starred Julie Andrews, Mary Tyler Moore and Carol Channing. It was nominated for seven Academy Awards and Elmer Bernstein won for best original score. It was first adapted to the stage in 2000.
