When the weather is so pleasant that it seems a shame to miss it by eating indoors, some diners are opting to take it outside. Many restaurants have made accommodations for those who wish to be one with nature, as well as their foods, by creating patio and deck spaces – replete with tables, chairs and bars – to suit their needs. But when locals want to dine outside in style, they head to the beach: Clare and Don’s Beach Shack, that is, this year’s pick for best outdoor eating.

Be it the neon-bright tables, the festive beach décor, or the on-site bar, the Clare and Don’s patio is the place to be for eating outside.

“People love our patio because it feels and looks like the beach,” Rebecca Tax, owner of Clare and Don’s, said.

The patio keeps busy in the evenings, as the setting sun provides relief from sweltering summer days in the City.

In addition to its menu and as an added treat, weather permitting, the restaurant provides evening entertainment from Thursday to Saturday on the patio, that diners of all ages (and pets alike) can enjoy.
