According to MCC Intergenerational Program Director Ryan Brookes, the goal of the event is to expose families and individuals of all ages and ability levels to a diverse range of outdoor fitness and adventure opportunities in a manner that allows them to overcome barriers to achieving an active lifestyle through outdoor pursuits.
Information and interactive activities related to kayaking, rock climbing, trail-running, geo-caching, sky diving, scuba diving, dog packing and llama trekking, among other topics, will be available at the expo. A Dutch oven cooking contest will be a part of the activities. Teams will compete to win prizes. The event will have an adaptive sports component as well, designed to help those with disabilities.
