Center Seeks Exhibitors for Adventure & Fitness Expo

The McLean Community Center is seeking exhibitors to participate in its 2011 Be Fit McLean! Outdoor Adventure & Fitness Expo. The expo will be held from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, at the center. Admission is free. The center is located at 1234 Ingleside Ave.

The McLean Community Center is seeking exhibitors to participate in its 2011 Be Fit McLean! Outdoor Adventure & Fitness Expo. The expo will be held from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, at the center. Admission is free. The center is located at 1234 Ingleside Ave.

According to MCC Intergenerational Program Director Ryan Brookes, the goal of the event is to expose families and individuals of all ages and ability levels to a diverse range of outdoor fitness and adventure opportunities in a manner that allows them to overcome barriers to achieving an active lifestyle through outdoor pursuits.

Information and interactive activities related to kayaking, rock climbing, trail-running, geo-caching, sky diving, scuba diving, dog packing and llama trekking, among other topics, will be available at the expo. A Dutch oven cooking contest will be a part of the activities. Teams will compete to win prizes. The event will have an adaptive sports component as well, designed to help those with disabilities.
