Falls Church Arts is hosting its eighth annual all-member show and sale. The exhibit is the kickoff event to Passport to the World: A Festival of Music, Dance, Art and Story.

The art show features over 100 works in various media by more than 50 FCA members. The show opens with a reception on Friday, Jan. 14, from 7 – 9 p.m. at ArtSpace Falls Church, 410 S. Maple Ave., Falls Church. The show continues every weekend through March 6. For more information, see fallschurcharts.org

The artwork in the FCA show reflects the artists’ travels (here or abroad, real or imagined) or the influences that other cultures have had on their work. The art exhibit’s theme is a reflection of the cross-cultural journey that Passport to the World festival-goers will experience through the exhibit and performances, workshops and demonstrations.

Presented by Creative Cauldron, the Passport to the World Festival is a two-month program that will feature weekend performances in diverse music and dance traditions from Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. For more information about the Passport to the World Festival, see creativecauldron.org or call 571-239-5288.

Again this year, the art exhibit director is Deborah Conn, an award-winning watercolor and portrait painter whose work has been shown at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, Strathmore Hall in Rockville, and the Jo Ann Rose Gallery in Reston, where she won first place in the League of Reston Artists’ 2006 juried exhibition.
