Jody’s Jam of the Week: Vegan Weekends in April

This should make all the D.C.-area vegans happy. Every weekend in April, Arlington’s Toscana Grill will go completely vegan. No meat, no dairy, no eggs. Nothing from our animal friends. No, that doesn’t mean bowls of veggies and soy beans, I’m talking Breakfast Veg-Steak, Vegan Pancakes & Waffles, Tofu Scramble and more.

Teaming up with D.C.-based Compassion Over Killing, a group focusing on animal cruelty and vegetarian eating, Toscana will be offering weekend specials all month long to promote and encourage healthier, animal-free eating. This weekend will feature a COK Benefit where 10% of sales will be donated to the group. On Saturday, April 10, it’s Dancing & Drinks night featuring a night club atmosphere with an all you can eat appetizer buffet, wine and more. To cap off the month-long vegan festivities, Sunday, April 25 will be Bring Your Dog to Brunch day where vegan dog treat company Max & Ruffy’s will be teaming up with the Arlington Animal Welfare League for a special adoption event. In addition, all month long on Saturdays, Toscana will be offering a free appetizer with each entree ordered, and, on Sundays, a free dessert with entrees.
