Jody’s Jam of the Week: October 22 – 28, 2009

The Arlington Kiwanis Club sure knows how to throw a party. This Saturday, the service club is hosting their 38th annual Oyster Feast and Pig Roast in Arlington.

Along with American Service Center, the Kiwanis will convert a garage into a huge dining hall where they will serve more than 500 people. Check out the eats: fresh oysters, shucked and served on the half-shell, deep fried oysters and clams, pork roasted and slow-cooked all day and served up in barbecue sandwiches. Not to mention the burgers, hot dogs, chips, slaw and Rock Bottom Brewery beer on hand. The annual all-you-can-eat dinner raises funds for youth leadership programs sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Arlington and helps to fund community youth projects and grants for other educational and non-profit organizations focusing on children in Arlington. Advanced tickets are $35, while at the door, you’ll shell out $40. Kids 5-13 are $10. Free validated parking is available at Ballston Common Mall.
