Curves of Falls Church is acknowledging National Breast Cancer Awareness Month by encouraging women to do self-exams and take preventative care.
According to the American Cancer Society, the probability of a woman being diagnosed with invasive breast caner during her life is one in eight while the probability of dying from it is one in 35. Curves is emphasizing prevention by waiving the service fee to join Curves for women who bring a mammogram performed within the last year or make a $25 contribution to the American Cancer Society the week of October 26.
