Jody’s Jam of the Week: October 8 – 14, 2009

As F.C.’s budget crisis cranks up to Code Red, taking on new projects is probably not on the front burner right now. Regardless, City officials should still take time to check this Jam out as it may provide some ideas as to how to fix the towing and parking hullabaloo.

It wasn’t the first time it has been mentioned but, again, at last week’s Council meeting, the idea of a parking garage was brought up. Why the City does not kick start this idea is anybody’s guess— maybe they’re just lacking inspiration. Well, here you go F.C. officials: next Saturday, the exhibition “House of Cars: Innovation and the Parking Garage” opens up at the National Building Museum. Exploring the history of the parking garage and opening conversations about innovative and parking solutions for the future, this event should be guaranteed viewing by everyone involved in finding the fix for our parking debacle. C’mon Falls Church, I know you consider yourself forward thinking, so get on the ball and bring mass parking to the City.
