Jody’s Jam of the Week: July 30 – August 5, 2009

One of the many advantages to living in the D.C. metro area is the wide variety of dining options around.

The sheer number of places available, however, might prove intimidating for some trying to find the best spots to eat. Coming to the aid of would-be area diners is DC Metro Food Tours, a group providing culinary explorations through some of the area’s tastiest neighborhoods. Providing food and market tours, pub crawls and more, DC Metro Food Tours has something for every eater. Their signature tour is the Historic Old Town Alexandria Food Tour, a three-hour jaunt through the historic city with each food stop complimenting the next. If you’re looking for a taste of the District, their new Capitol Hill Culinary Experience tour explores the dishes and flavors of the Hill, including spots from Barracks Row to the Eastern Market. Looking to promote locally owned and operated restaurants, the group also offers several other gastronomic activities including artisan food events, evening food tours and more destined to please your belly.
