 Graham Roads Vacation Bible School

Graham Road Church (2929 Graham Rd., Falls Church) presents a bible-based camp for children ages three to 11 on July 16 – 20. Hosted by “Wilbur the Super Dog,” the one-week class is scheduled for 9 – 11:30 a.m. daily. No fee required. Register by calling the church at 703-573-4444.

 

American Soccer Academy Camps Offered

Boys and girls of all skill levels are invited to attend American Soccer Academy camps, held on July 16 – 20 and August 13 – 17. The staff will coach players on soccer techniques and tactics. The camp will begin at 9 a.m. and end 5 p.m. each day at Idlywood Park (7713 Virginia Lane, Falls Church) and is open to children ages three to 14. Oakton Swim and Raquet Club Dive Team News

On July 3, the Oakton Otters competed in a meet against Stratford, sweeping seven of eight of the top spots and defeating them 48 to 19. This year is Oakton’s first in Division 7 and their third time competing.

The Oakton Otters came home with first place at the Freshman Girls level with Laura Branton, Freshman Boys with Andrew Sargent, Junior Girls with Laura Johnson, Junior Boys with Michael Nikolich, Intermediate Girls with Alyssa Worsham, Intermediate Boys with Daniel Nugent and Senior Girls with Emily Rakosi, who posted a new personal and pool record.

Oakton also claimed second place with Haley Worsham at the Junior Girls level, Alex Sommese at the Intermediate Girls and Kelly Ruffer at the Senior Girls. A.J. Colbert won third place in the Junior Girls.

Oakton will host their next meet against Hamlet on July 10.
