A guide to restaurants, food providers and food services in the City of Falls Church has been published by the City’s 2007 Committee to Celebrate America’s 400th Anniversary in association with the City’s Commissioner of the Revenue, the Greater Falls Church Chamber of Commerce, and Taste of Falls Church with funding from the City’s Economic Development Authority.  “Treats and Eats in the City” is now available at the Falls Church City Hall, the Chamber of Commerce, and online at www.fallschurchva.gov.

 

The board of directors of General Dynamics yesterday elected John C. Ulrich, 52, a vice president of the corporation. In accordance with a previously announced plan, Ulrich has become president of the General Dynamics European Land Combat Systems business unit, reporting to Charles M. Hall, executive vice president and group executive for General Dynamics’ Combat Systems business group. Ulrich succeeds H. Michael Malzacher, who is retiring. General Dynamics, headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia, employs approximately 81,900 people worldwide and had 2005 revenue of $21.2 billion. The Greater Falls Church Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Merrifield Business Association invite business leaders and residents to attend a co-hosted luncheon with a presentation by representatives from  2007 Committee to Celebrate America’s 400th Anniversary.  The luncheon will take place from 11:30 – 1:00 on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at the Italian Café located at 7161 Lee Highway.  The cost is $25 for members of GFCCC or GMBA and $30 for nonmembers.  Email GFCCC at [email protected]  or GMBA at [email protected] to reserve seats. 

Waterford Development received an award for best condominium project in the Mid-Atlantic region for The Palladium, a luxury residence in McLean, Va. The award, given by Delta Associates, was presented October 5 at the 10th Annual Multifamily Awards for Excellence.
