Art and Frame of Falls Church is moving to 111 Park Avenue (formerly Miniatures from the Attic) on Monday, September 11, 2006. Computer Associates has named Peter Scalone as Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Federal Division based out of CA’s headquarters in Herndon, Virginia. Scalone, a 15 year veteran of CA, will be responsible for all aspects of CA’s sales to the U.S. Federal Government. Prior to joining CA, he was with Sperry Corporation (now Unisys Corp). Falls Church-based General Dynamics Corp. was awarded more than $40 million in delivery orders by the U.S. Army through two contracts worth a total of almost $5 billion. $25 million was awarded as part of a more than $194 million contract for the mobile gun system vehicle and nuclear biological chemical reconnaissance vehicle test support while another order for $15.8 million was granted as part of a more than $4.8 billion contract for the air conditioning kits for the Stryker Vehicle. The Greater Falls Church Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Merrifield Business Association invite friends of the business community to their co-hosted September Networking Luncheon featuring Congressman Tom Davis. Taste of Falls Church has signed on a number of local restaurants including 2 Sisters, Aldo’s Italian Steakhouse, Argia’s Broad Street, Charlie Horse Grill, Clare & Don’s Beach Shack, Ireland’s Four Provinces, Ledo Pizza Restaurant and Catering, Lebanese Taverna, Robeks, Sunrise of Falls Church, The Auld Shebeen, ZPizza and, for discerning canines, the Organic Doggie Kitchen. A number of local artists will have their works on display and for sale while Don Bridges, Catfish Hodge, and Dusty Rose perform. The family friendly event will take place rain or shine from noon to 5:00 pm in the parking area behind the 100 block of N. Washington Street.
