Hockenberry Says She

Falls Church Vice Mayor Lindy Hockenberry announced at the annual meeting of the Citizens for a Better City (CBC) Sunday that she will seek election to a third four-year term on the Falls Church City Council next May. Hockenberry said she’ll remain committed to policies that will sustain the long-term viability of Falls Church’s independent city status. Mayor Robin Gardner said she will wait until “after the holidays” to make an announcement on whether she will seek re-election or not. School Board Chair Craig Cheney said he will not seek re-election. In other election announcements made to date, Councilman David Chavern has said he will not run again, and two citizens, Lawrence Webb and Ed Hillegass, have stated their intentions to run for the City Council for the first time.
