‘High Minded’ Frontwoman Follows Musical Path

Seventeen-year-old George Mason High School senior Katie Potrykus, lead singer and guitarist of the Falls Church-based, all-girl rock band High Minded, has been a musical talent in the making since the age of three and has been blossoming ever since.

ANDREW KOTYK, a senior at McLean High School, received his Eagle Scout award at a court of honor on Saturday, April 12 at the Scout House. He is shown with his parents, Myron and Debbie Kotyk. The George Mason High School freshman football team hosted Rappahannock High School last Wednesday and got back on the winning track with a 35 – 6 victory, upping its record to 3-1. Just a week ago, Mason was beaten badly at Madison County and there were questions about how the team would respond.
