Founded in 1947, the Falls Church Chamber of Commerce is a membership organization of almost 300 businesses interested in the Falls Church community. The membership is composed of primarily small, independent businesses, in the greater Falls Church area. Led by a 21 person board of directors with 2 part-time staff, the mission of the organization is to promote local business interests in order to foster economic prosperity and civic wellbeing in the greater Falls Church community. The Chamber believes strongly in “Better Business for a Better Falls Church.
1) How does the Chamber advance its mission?
The Chamber provides its members with networking and promotional opportunities to help them create business-to-business relationships and advocates on behalf of the business community on critical business issues. At least three networking events are held each month to help members meet fellow business leaders, clients, vendors, referrals, and local decision makers. The Chamber also provides each of its members a page on its website and the ability to post information, events, special offers, and job opportunities on its site. All of this information is also shared in email announcements each Monday and on the Chamber’s social media.
2) Why do businesses join the Chamber of Commerce?
There are a variety of great reasons to join the Chamber! Some members join for the credibility it adds to their business, some want to get more involved in the community while others join to meet other business professionals and decision makers or for the significant promotional opportunities available through the Chamber’s website, email announcements and social media.
3) What events does the Chamber have coming up?
The Chamber does not host events in August typically but we will be hosting a number of events in September – a Chamber orientation meeting on Tuesday, September 1, a networking breakfast on Thursday, September 10, a Falls Church City Council Candidates luncheon tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, a mixer hosted by Creative Cauldron which will highlight its coming performance schedule on Thursday, September 24, and our Annual Mini-golf Family Fun Night scheduled for Tuesday, September 29.
