The greatest line from Tuesday’s night’s Democratic National Convention, and maybe one of the greatest ever, was delivered by former President Barack Obama, and it was completely silent. But to the thousands of delegates and others crammed into the United Center arena, it was very obvious what he was “saying.” As Obama criticized Trump’s obsession with crowd sizes he gestured with his hands as they moved to a space between them of about three inches. Yes, the size that Trump is really concerned about, the gesture suggested, is the size of one of his organs. The crowd got it right away and exploded in extended laughter and cheers.

Otherwise, without ticking off the specifics of Trump’s agenda, Obama suggested they would trigger a national crisis. “It is one of the oldest tricks in politics, from a guy whose act has—let’s face it—gotten pretty stale,” Obama said. “We do not need four more years of bluster and bumbling and chaos. We’ve seen that movie before, and we all know that the sequel is usually worse,” he said, counseling Democrats to prepare for an ugly road ahead. “It won’t be easy,” he said. “The other side knows it’s easier to play on people’s fears and cynicism.”

Otherwise, it was noted by a commentator on PBS that Trump reportedly called Netanyahu in the last days to urge him not to agree to a ceasefire at least while the Democratic convention was still going on.
