Mason’s Poetry Virtuoso Performs at Carnegie Hall

As one of five students selected from across the country, George Mason High School’s Annie Castillo performed on the stage of Carnegie Hall last week.

The event was the culmination of the National Student Poets Program, which strives to inspire young people to achieve excellence in creative endeavors.

Through her poetry, Castillo was selected to participate in a year’s worth of activities including working with school children in Mississippi during National Poetry Month.
