McLean Rotary Club Installs Officers for 2017-18

The Rotary Club of McLean installed its new officers for the 2017-2018 program year at a special club meeting on Tuesday evening, June 27, 2017, held in the Bistro Restaurant of the Vinson Hall Retirement Community. Rotarian Bob Jansen was installed as the new Club president by Rotary District 7610 Governor Ronnie Chankter.

In new president Jansen’s remarks to the club, he thanked former president Michael Arietti for his service the past year. He also thanked the club for the year that was just completed and set forth his future goals, including recruiting more members, creating additional opportunities for fellowship outside of regular club meetings, working closer with local high school Rotary Interact Clubs and continuing the club’s high quality of service to the McLean community.

The Rotary Club of McLean was founded in 1965 under the sponsorship of the Falls Church Rotary Club. For the past 52 years the club has provided leadership and support to the McLean community through its volunteer and service projects, and through numerous fundraising projects. The club is made up of 60 plus members of the McLean business and professional community working together to serve their community.

Here are the remaining officers who were installed: President Elect 2018-19 – Gene Durman; Vice President – Barry Byer, MD; Treasurer – Jan Auerbach; Secretary – Deborah Jackson; Sergeant-at-arms – Thamir Al’Hashimi; Foundation Director – Glenn Yarborough; Membership Director – Dana Sippel; Service Director – Carol Stone; Public Image Director – Richard Neldon; Vocation Director – Lois Wilson, DDS; Youth Programs Director – Todd Dempsey; Directors at Large – Eva Sereghy and Bob Rosenbaum.
