Falls Church area residents are joining “Team Jimmy” to raise money for the National Brain Tumor Society and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure during a variety of upcoming events. A spin class titled Cycle for Hope will take place on Friday, April 28 at 24 Hour Fitness (1000 E. Broad St. Falls Church). A car wash will take place at Falls Church Presbyterian Church (225 E. Broad St.) on Saturday, May 6 from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. The following morning join “Team Jimmy” at the Race for Hope 5K run/walk in downtown Washington, D.C. on Sunday, May 7. “Team Jimmy” was started in honor of Jimmy Alverson, a brain cancer survivor and eighth-grader currently attending Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School.
