Maryland Lyric Opera Performs in Falls Church

The Maryland Lyric Opera is performing Menotti’s holiday opera, “Amahl and the Night Visitors,” at the Falls Church Episcopal on Friday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. “Amahl and the Night Visitors,”  tells the story of an encounter between Amahl, a boy who’s leg is disabled, and the Three Kings.

This family-friendly holiday classic is a one-act, 45-minute opera, sung in English and performed with two pianos and professional soloists. Piano accompaniment will be provided by Christopher Koelzer and Maryland Lyric Opera founder and executive director Brad Clark.

Music for the show will be conducted by Maryland Lyric Opera associate conductor Joshua Bavaro and the show will be directed by Maryland Lyric Opera interim artistic director Shelley Waite, who will also be singing in the production.
