Police Seeking Info After Dog Bites Woman on Park Avenue Sunday

A woman may be forced to undergo rabies treatment if the dog who bit her Sunday evening in Falls Church is not located sometime in the next week.

City of Falls Church Police report that the victim, who is in her 70s, was walking on Park Avenue in front of Cherry Hill Park around 5 p.m. on Nov. 13 when she was confronted by two black dogs, one smaller than the other, being walked by a casually-dressed man and a woman, possibly in their 30s. After one of the dogs bit the victim on the hand, police say the dog owners were “very nice to the victim and asked if she was okay” but did not identify themselves.

If the dogs are not located before Wednesday, Nov. 23, police say the victim will have to undergo rabies inoculations.

Police ask anyone with information on this incident to contact them immediately via the City of F.C. Animal Control Division at 703-241-5053 (TTY 711).
