Stuart HS Alum, Redskins Punter Speaks at Local Event

Mike Bragg, a Falls Church native, graduate of J.E.B. Stuart High School and former punter for the Washington Redskins, was the featured speaker at the Alexandria Sportsman’s Club annual Redskins night on Tuesday, Oct. 18.

Bragg played for the Washington football team from 1968-1979 and his career highlights include most punts in a career and most punts in a season for the franchise. He also landed a team-record 29 punts inside the 20-yard line during the 1976 season.

These days he’s a resident of Old Town. He’s coached youth sports while working as a financial planner after retiring from football. At the event, he presented the Alexandria Sportsman’s Club’s Athlete of the Month awards.
